Engineered for Ireland’s strict warehousing regulations and demanding heavy cargo profiles
Overcoming Post-Brexit Supply Bottlenecks and Meeting High Storage Safety Standards
Following recent shifts in UK-Ireland trade regulations, local industrial sectors in Dublin, Galway, and Cork are expanding warehouse capacities to reduce transit vulnerabilities. Our structural storage systems are tailored to bypass middlemen, offering direct-from-manufacturer pricing structures.
Unlike standard pallet racks, cantilever configurations are specifically engineered to store long, unwieldy materials such as timber beams, steel pipes, plastic extrusion tubes, and sheet materials without obstruction from vertical columns.
All systems engineered for Irish deployment comply strictly with European standards EN 15635, ensuring rigorous load-bearing safety parameters and reliable resistance to local atmospheric conditions and damp climates.
As heavy industry in the Republic of Ireland undergoes structural transformation, there is a distinct demand for space optimization. Logistics managers from Dublin Port down to Shannon Industrial Estates are moving away from traditional floor stacking. Floor storage of materials like structural timber, PVC profile extrusions, and heavy metal coils is highly inefficient and creates significant workplace hazards. Transitioning to custom structural cantilever racking allows companies to increase their vertical capacity by up to 250% while improving sorting and selection operations.

Technical Insights into Single/Double-Sided Columns and Deflection Parameters
Cantilever racking systems are constructed utilizing upright columns, robust bases, arms, and horizontal/diagonal bracing sets. Their open-front structure eliminates the typical challenges associated with front-upright structural members, making them essential for loading long items via side-loader forklifts or overhead cranes.
Upright columns are manufactured using heavy-gauge, high-yield structural steel (typically Q235B or Q355B). The column is punched along its height, allowing arms to be easily adjusted to match cargo profiles. Depending on storage configurations, systems can be single-sided (positioned against walls) or double-sided (accessible from both directions).
Cantilever arms are the foundation of product support. They are attached to columns using heavy-duty pins or bolts, allowing rapid height adjustments without specialized tools. Removable end-stops can be installed on arms to prevent cylindrical loads like steel bars or plastic pipes from rolling off.
Structural stability is achieved through custom horizontal and diagonal steel bracing bars. These components secure adjacent columns together, reinforcing the structure against dynamic shear and wind loads. This is particularly crucial for outdoor storage yards exposed to Irish coastal conditions.
Our engineers utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to calculate stress and strain distributions under heavy loads. This rigorous planning ensures that structural steel components maintain their shape without excessive deflection (well within safety limits defined by EN 1993 - Eurocode 3).
Innovative Surface Protection & Anti-Corrosion Technologies for Irish Operations
Irish warehouse environments are often subject to high relative humidity, particularly in port locations like Dublin, Cork, and Limerick. Over time, moisture can compromise steel structures, potentially leading to surface oxidation or structural degradation.
To address these environmental challenges, we have updated our coating processes. Our technical roadmap incorporates electrostatic powder coating alongside hot-dip galvanization processes. For outdoor timber and pipe storage, we utilize hot-dip galvanization according to ISO 1461. By immersion in molten zinc, a thick, rust-resistant barrier is bonded to both the internal and external surfaces of the columns and bases, extending system service life by decades.
For indoor logistics spaces, our automated powder coating line uses high-purity polyester powders. These powders are cured at 200°C to create a hard, impact-resistant finish that withstands regular use from forklift operations.
